Maico Camilo, born in Brazil in 1982, embarked on his educational journey early in life, leading him to move to New Zealand at the age of 23. It was there that he met his partner and now husband, Lyndon Bray. Maico’s life has been marked by extensive travel and residence across Europe, Asia, South America, and Oceania.
Initially focused on International Relations, Maico later decisively transitioned to the art world to pursue his true passion. While establishing his artistic career, he also managed his own recruitment business. Immersing himself deeply in art, Maico dedicated himself to exploring his unique artistic path and questioning his own perspectives. Through his artwork, he explores various forms of communication, aiming to encourage viewers to critically examine the realities around them.
Having been a professional artist for nearly two decades, Maico has made a significant impact on the art scene. He is not only a successful artist but also a business owner and philanthropist. His work has garnered national and international recognition, resulting in invitations to exhibit in prominent art centers worldwide, including New York, Milan, Paris, Sydney, Tokyo, and Venice. Notably, in 2023, including a major exhibition at the Auckland Museum.
Maico Camilo’s journey as an artist has transcended geographical boundaries, allowing him to cultivate his distinct artistic voice. His career reflects a multifaceted approach to life and a deep passion for creating thought-provoking art.
