Born in Brazil 1982, and left his home country to pursue his education at an early age. At age 23, He had decided to make a new move to New Zealand and subsequently met his partner and now husband (Lyndon Bray). Maico has travelled extensively up into Europe, Asia, South America and Oceania.
Maico studied International Relations as a degree, and has made a clear decision to move on and establish his capacity and immersed himself deeply in the art world, so that he could pursue his passion for art. He has therefore immersed himself in art, while at the start also running his own recruitment business.
Maico Camilo has set about exploring his own journey through his art, challenging his own paradigms and his reason for being and not being afraid to explore different vocabularies and communication forms through his art. As a result, he is challenging us all to confront the obvious, in terms of what is going on around us.
He has been a professional Artist for almost 2 decades, a business owner, philanthropist and is represented Nationally and Internationally. He has been invited to exhibit in some major Art locations such as New York, Milan, Paris, Sydney, Tokyo and Venice, amongst other art capitals. And he has also recently showcased his Artwork Internal Saboteur at the Auckland Museum.
